Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest stars in WWE. He is also considered to be the next face of the company. The American Nightmare often finds himself in the headlines ever since his triumphant return at WrestleMania in 2022.
Professional Wrestling Career
WWE(2007-2016)
Cody Rhodes made his WWE TV debut on an episode of Raw back in 2007. Being the son of WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Cody was destined to be a top star. However, he stayed a mid-carder throughout his first run in the WWE. Cody was also a part of the popular faction “The Legacy” along with Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase Jr.
ROH, NJPW, and AEW (2016-2022)
Following his WWE departure after the failure of “Stardust” gimmick, Cody resumed his wrestling career, working with different promotions. He eventually became a top star, soon after joining ROH. Rhodes was also a member of “Bullet Club” during his time in NJPW. Cody, along with other big wrestlers, co-founded AEW in 2019, and signed a contract with them. Cody Rhodes achieved great success in AEW as well.
WWE(return) (2022-present)
After completely reinventing himself, The American Nightmare came back to WWE in 2022 for a fresh start. Cody had a tremendous feud with Seth Rollins, and he won on all three occasions he met Seth. Cody’s momentum was halted when he tore his pectoral muscle and wrestled with injury at Hell in a Cell 2022. He was out of the ring for months, to undergo surgery.

Nonetheless, he returned at Royal Rumble 2023 and won the men’s Rumble match to headline WrestleMania. Despite falling short at that year’s event, he would go on to “finish the story” a year later and finally become Undisputed WWE Champion.
