Kevin Owens doesn’t regret his actions at all from Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Quebec-born wrestler not only rocked Cody Rhodes with a package piledriver from behind but also butted heads with WWE CCO Triple H after the show went off-air. However, The Prizefighter has come up with his side of the story.
Taking to X, Owens paraphrased a couple of posts made by WWE. First off, addressing his beatdown of Rhodes, the Canuck affirmed that he justifiably got retribution on Cody after getting screwed out of a WWE title win by a bunch of incompetent referees. KO said he leveraged an imitated, not duplicated, piledriver to send the crowd home with happy faces.
In his second justification, he went into the details of his heated confrontation with Triple H. As per Kevin, The Game was animated as he was expressing his gratitude for Owens. The latter revealed that he also got an invite to the Levesque household come this Christmas for a dinner and rewatch Saturday Night’s Main Event on a giant 734-inch TV.
It has to be noted that the 40-year-old exited the arena with Cody’s winged eagle WWE title, believing he’s the real champion. It appears as if this would be the way forward with Owens bragging about the quaint finish to his match with Rhodes. That’d probably lead to yet another showdown between the two soon enough.
Special guest announcer Jesse Ventura also asserted on commentary that Cody did cheat when he delivered a Cross Rhodes to Kevin onto a steel chair. On top of that, the ending saw ref Charles Robinson making the three-count from outside of the ring. Is that even legal? Owens might use it to his advantage in the coming weeks.
Kevin Owens’ menace had Cody Rhodes end up in a hospital
When Kevin Owens goes after someone, it’s not going to be a love tap. One would know how diabolical he can be tracing his history of betrayals. However, for the first time in his career, Owens believes that he was on the receiving end of it.
As a result, he first took care of Randy Orton. And last night, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it was Cody Rhodes‘ turn. After Owens hit him with the package piledriver, The American Nightmare had to be stretchered out of the arena.
Backstage, it was shown that Cody’s lifeless body was transferred into an ambulance that drove him to a hospital for further evaluation. WWE has yet to comment on Rhodes’ medical status. It’d be interesting to see if Cody misses few weeks of television.
