At WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes finished his story by dethroning Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Since then, Rhodes has held on to the belt and defeated several formidable opponents in the process. Moreover, he’s managed to remain the top babyface of the promotion during this run. Recently, WWE legend Hulk Hogan provided his thoughts on The American Nightmare’s reign.
While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Hogan compared the current era to his own generation. The Hulkster claimed that Rhodes exemplifies a lot of what he did during his peak. Although Hogan admitted that times have changed, he believes that Dusty Rhodes‘ kid is doing a great job as the current WWE Champion.
From time to time, you see him sort of ‘Hulk up’. That’s cool to see. But it’s so hard to compare. This is a completely different time.
Hulk Hogan via Undisputed
Hogan usually opines about the ongoing WWE product. In the past year, Hogan revealed that he was a fan of CM Punk, heaping praise on the latter’s “outlaw mentality.” Other than that, the WWE Hall of Famer called for the promotion to turn Logan Paul face. Hogan even pitched for Paul to join The Bloodline saga by saving Roman Reigns from a beatdown.
Hulk Hogan has been signed to a WWE Legends deal since 2019. The company uses the former WWE Champion’s IP for merchandise and network shows. Despite rumors of a potential surprise appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the 71-year-old has not shown up on programming since January 2023.
As for Cody Rhodes, the champ has not had the greatest of times as of late. The 39-year-old star has been feuding with his former friend, Kevin Owens. Furthermore, The Prizefighter took Rhodes out of action after hitting him with a Package Piledriver a few weeks ago.
Who will Cody Rhodes face at WrestleMania 41?
In a few weeks, the road to WrestleMania 41 will kick off soon. However, there hasn’t been a clear path set for Cody Rhodes at the Showcase of Immortals. While he is embroiled in a rivalry with Kevin Owens at the moment, it is unlikely to last enough until April 19.
The most likely choices for Rhodes to face at WrestleMania are The Rock and Randy Orton. For some reason, WWE has not referenced The Great One on television since his return at Bad Blood. This has led many to believe that The Rock might not be available for the road to WrestleMania.
As such, Rhodes might be headed for a program with Orton. Whether or not this involves The Viper turning heel is yet to be seen. Nevertheless, fans cannot wait to see how things play out in the coming months for The American Nightmare.
