Reality of Wrestling is a popular wrestling school and promotion based out of Houston, Texas. Booker T, along with his wife Sharmell, founded the school nearly two decades ago. The school has produced incredible talent, such as Roxanne Perez and Zilla Fatu. However, things have recently taken a serious turn in his promotion. The Hall of Famer will now have to set foot in the squared circle himself.

On December 29th, at the Reality of Wrestling Breakout Event, Zilla Fatu had a confrontation with the former King Booker. The Samoan said that the 59-year-old was supposed to be a mentor to him. However, he had turned the rising star into an enemy. The confrontation got more and more heated as it went on, and the two superstars decided to settle their differences in a match.

Booker T will now face Fatu at a Reality of Wrestling event on January 11th, 2025. The NXT announcer last stepped into the ring in January 2023, taking part in the Royal Rumble match. His last match for Reality of Wrestling took place in 2022 when his team lost to Team Sharmell at ROW Summer of Champions VIII. Furthermore, his last singles match took place almost six years ago.

Fatu has actually had real-life issues with the six-time World Champion in the past. He had parted ways with Reality of Wrestling before reconciling with his former mentor earlier this year in February. Since then, he has had an incredibly successful run and is bound to be signed by a major wrestling promotion very soon. The 25-year-old has repeatedly expressed his wish to join his family in WWE.

Booker T comments on TNA’s worst decision

Booker T is highly familiar with TNA. Not only has he wrestled for the promotion in the past, but he also had a run-in with many of its superstars on NXT due to the WWE-TNA partnership. Thus, when someone in that position comments on a promotion’s terrible decisions, they likely know what they are talking about.

TNA recently decided to bring back controversial superstar Tessa Blanchard. However, the Champion of Champions did not mind this as much as what the promotion did with her a few years ago. In 2020, the female superstar beat Sami Callihan to become the TNA World Champion. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the 59-year-old said that he was against this decision from the beginning.

When they did that, I was the first one against it. I said, ‘That was the worst decision TNA has ever made, since its existence.’ … And guess what? I was 100% right.

Around the same time as her title reign, Blanchard faced allegations of being a bully and making racist remarks towards other talent backstage. After not showing up at a couple of shows, she was stripped of the title, and her contract was terminated shortly after.

The former WCW superstar has been involved in many controversies himself over the years. Just recently, he was called out for s*xualising female NXT talent and wanting Lola Vice to twerk with Sexyy Red.
