As the WrestleMania season sets over WWE, the company is testing the waters with their ongoing stories on television. It’s absolutely pivotal that they put forth the right combination of matches for WrestleMania. As per Sami Zayn on the Battleground podcast, WWE had a couple of big-time bouts planned for The Show of Shows in Las Vegas but have been preponed.

Zayn mentioned that the matches in-question are Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins. As the fans know it, both of them are now set for the Netflix premiere of Raw. But as affirmed by The Honorary Uce, they were WrestleMania-bound at one point from the rumblings he’s heard.

However, the rescheduling of these matchups for the $2 billion Intuit Dome Raw evinces how important that night is for WWE. There’s plenty of backstage drama unfolding in WWE right now as their top stars are jockeying for main event spots. As a result, a new update from Fightful suggests that WWE has discussed Punk vs. Reigns for WrestleMania 41.

I heard rumblings about both of those matches being WrestleMania matches. So the fact that they’re on the Netflix premiere tells you what a big deal this is.

That’d leave the field wide open for Rollins. And that’s something which is not sitting well with the diehards of The Visionary. Had Punk faced Seth, the latter would’ve been in serious contention for his second consecutive WrestleMania main event. That possibility has dwindled significantly of late.

At this point, there’s nothing concrete on what Rollins will do at The Showcase of the Immortals if he’s not facing The Second City Saint. With over four months to spare till WWE descends on the Allegiant Stadium, the creative department has to roll the dice in the favor of the fans.

How does the top of the card look for WrestleMania 41?

Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk, if it happens, is a guaranteed WrestleMania headliner for either of the two nights. That begs the question, what would be the other adjacent of it? Per PWInsider, WWE has a backup plan for Cody Rhodes‘ Undisputed title match lest The Rock opts out.

John Cena would be the likely replacement in that scenario. However, if The Great One informs WWE about his involvement, the creative plans would be reworked to fit into his vision. As for the women’s side of things, a rumored showdown between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair is expected.

Things are a bit trickier in the Raw women’s division, though. If Rhea Ripley beats Liv Morgan for the gold on Raw’s Netflix debut, one would expect Mami to march into WrestleMania as the champion. One of the most clamored opponents for Ripley at Mania is Iyo Sky.
