Micah Parsons possesses a brilliant football mind but occasionally he will theorize ideas and statements that leave fans scratching their heads. The Dallas Cowboys pass rusher claimed that if there was no scoreboard during their fixture against divisional rivals the Philadelphia Eagles then both teams were equally matched.

Perhaps it skipped Parsons’ mind that the Eagles blew the Cowboys out 41-7, and in all honesty, they could have conceded more if the Eagles kept running back Saquon Barkley longer in the game. The Cowboys were in utter shambles without CeeDee Lamb, and Cooper Rush struggled to connect with Jalen Brooks, Brandin Cooks, and Jalen Tolbert.

The game was never close and even though owner Jerry Jones will never admit it the result definitely threw question marks on Mike McCarthy’s coaching. However, from Micah Parsons’ point of view, the Cowboys were always in the game, fighting toe to toe with the Eagles if there was no scoreboard inside the Lincoln Field.

You look at their play. They had two big runs and three good deep shots. Other than that, we made them earn it. If you take away the scoreboard, it was about five plays that decided this game. You hate to say that because it’s a lot of football.

Fans on social media shocked after Micah Parsons claimed the Eagles-Cowboys game was closer if there was no scoreboard

There were more than five plays involved in the lopsided scoreline. However, those plays hurt the Cowboys the most as the Eagles racked up 370+ yards with Barkley adding 170+ yards on the ground by himself. Not to mention, the Eagles fielded backup Kenny Pickett and third-choice Tanner McKee, who combined contributed three touchdown passes.

Unlike the New York Jets against the Buffalo Bills, the Cowboys had little to show in their offense. Instead, they turned the ball over multiple times, giving the Eagles the momentum they needed.

Dallas ended the day with only 268 yards, and Rush threw two interceptions, aside from a couple of crucial fumbles, which hurt them even more. It was a below-average game for Parsons as well who only contributed two tackles and one tackle for loss.

The win handed the Eagles the NFC East title and a good chance to clinch the second seed in the conference. As for the Cowboys, they were already eliminated from the playoff race, and the defeat left them with their first losing season since 2020.
