“Completely fu**ing mental”- Nick Wright faces heat for suggesting Patriots trade Drake Maye and draft Shedeur Sanders
Nick Wright wants the Patriots to send Drake Maye to the Titans in exchange for the No.2 pick and draft both Colorado players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

Drake Maye has shown flashes of brilliance with limited resources at the New England Patriots. In 12 games, Maye completed 2276 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions with a completion rate of 66.8%. Despite the promising numbers, popular football analyst Nick Wright believes the Patriots should move on from Maye and draft Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Following the Patriots’ embarrassing 40-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Wright went onto FOX Sports 1’s First Things First and described a possible favorable scenario in which Jerod Mayo’s team might benefit from trading away Maye and use their No. 1 draft pick to make multiple additions to the team. By additions, Wright suggested drafting Shedeur and his teammate and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, along with making a move for Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.
Wright further suggested that the Patriots should trade Maye to Tennessee to get the No. 2 pick held by the Titans and take Hunter.
.@getnickwright explains what the Patriots should do with the #1 pick:

Social media outrage after Nick Wright suggests the Patriots should trade Drake Maye for Shedeur Sanders
The Patriots may be 3-13 this year, but their fan base has accepted Maye as their future quarterback. More importantly, Maye came into a system that was already on a downward spiral even before legendary coach Bill Belichick left the coup.
Sanders is a great prospect, but moving on from a player after just one year without providing him with much quality support seems overkill. The return may seem very desirable with the Colorado band back together at Foxborough, but they will have to start from scratch, delaying any kind of future success.
are you completely fucking mental??? @getnickwright You should be banned from talking about this sport https://t.co/aASmdRnlLd

As a Bills fan…the patriots are set with Maye. Sanders won’t come close to what that kid will probably do. Maybe go get hunter or trade out and stockpile picks from a qb starved team.

This is the craziest scenario I’ve seen. Very interested to see what ends up happening. Really hope we end up with Travis Hunter https://t.co/G5zf9XV7vC

Not kidding I unblocked you cause I saw this on Instagram. Not only should you be fired for being so back at your job you should actually get exiled to Siberia. Colorado couldn’t make it out of the Big 12 but this will save us? All time bait https://t.co/LKDc3kYlES

1. Coaching from the college to nfl level is a big jump to assume will be easy. 2. Maye has been very promising and it’s very weird to assume Shedeur will even be on the same level, will probably be worse. 3. Teams will not offer a top 5 pick for maye if the team is “giving up”-> https://t.co/OQnhJU4IuK

Nick Wright has to be one of, if not the most, idiotic sports talk head in the industry. https://t.co/P7ytwAU0sX

How many times does Deion have to say he's not leaving for these dumbass media "analysts" to actually listen to him?!?!? https://t.co/byCuzer5SZ

Nick Wright later clarified his statement.
To be clear, this isn’t what I’m saying they definitely *should* do… I’m saying if they don’t consider it (depending on how much they like/don’t like Shedeur) they’re being irresponsible. https://t.co/IvECffVLCk

Regardless of how the social media feels about Wright’s take, there’s certainly merit to it. If trading Maye to the Titans gets them Sanders, Hunter, and possibly Coach Prime then they should at least take a shot at it.
