CeeDee Lamb’s shoulder issues finally got the better of him. The All-Pro wide receiver will no longer be available for the Dallas Cowboys’ final two games.
It wasn’t a secret that Lamb carried a shoulder injury for a while, and it started to bother him as the season progressed.
Despite the pain, the 25-year-old kept on playing for the Cowboys and appeared in 15 games. However, the Cowboys decided it was time to send Lamb on an early vacation because their season was already over with a 7-8 record. The best Jerry Jones’ team could do is end with nine wins but even that wouldn’t be enough to earn a second-place finish in the NFC East, let alone a postseason football.

CeeDee Lamb's shoulder injury has now progressed to the level of the #Cowboys choosing to shut him down for the remainder of the season— following a new round of medical scans.
The All-Pro gave all he could & more, but it's over. No surgery is expected as this time.
As there’s nothing to play for but pride, Lamb taking a long vacation to heal his shoulder for next season was the best course of action.
Micah Parsons says CeeDee Lamb is the best receiver he has ever seen
Fan expectations were through the roof for the 2024 season after both Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott received contract extensions prior to week 1 games. However, several key players were missing from day 1, both in offense and defense (Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland). On top of it, Prescott picked up a bad leg injury that ended his season.
Lamb battled through his shoulder pain, the sun in his eyes, and frequent pass drops but still logged 100 receptions for 1194 yards and 6 touchdowns. Defensive end Micah Parsons who missed a large part of the campaign himself due to injury, claimed Lamb is the best receiver he has ever seen.
Parsons pointed out that Lamb put up numbers despite playing with multiple quarterbacks throwing to him.
Cowboys DE Micah Parsons on WR CeeDee Lamb: “He might be the best receiver I’ve seen. He’s QB-proof. I’ve seen him get 1,000 (yards) with Andy Dalton. I’ve seen him get 1,000 with Dak Prescott. I’ve seen him get 1,000 with Cooper Rush.

It was 935 yards with Andy Dalton as the Cowboys QB in 2020 for Lamb, but Parsons does have a point. Now the Cowboys have to win their last two games against the 12-3 Philadelphia Eagles and 10-5 Washington Commanders without Lamb as their main target man. In his absence, Brandin Cooks, KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Brooks, and Ryan Flournoy must step up to the plate.
