Caleb Williams’ rookie season has not been one without its own share of struggles. Through his first six games, the quarterback had 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. In his first two games as a starter, he failed to set his team up for touchdowns.
However, in the past few weeks, Caleb Williams has been upping the ante. In the last four weeks, the quarterback has 8 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. In tonight’s rematch of the Thanksgiving matchup between Chicago and Detroit, the rookie quarterback had his best half of the season.
Caleb Williams ended the first half with 198 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 124.7 passer rating. His first touchdown pass was to Cole Kmet at the 1-yard line and his second score came late in the second quarter in the form of a 45-yard touchdown throw to Keenan Allen.

Caleb Williams has made it to the Bears’ top 10 for most passing yards in a season
The quarterback sits at 3,135 yards through halftime. He is on track to etch his name in the team’s history books as he is just 140 yards shy of reaching the top five all-time list of throwing for most passing yards in a season. Earlier this season, he broke the team’s single-season passing record by a rookie. He has over 300 pass attempts in a row without an interception making it the longest active streak in the NFL.
Caleb Williams is also just one of two quarterbacks who has thrown for over 1 touchdown against the Detroit Lions this season. The rookie has accomplished this feat in the Thanksgiving game and tonight’s matchup. The other quarterback to have done this in the season is Josh Allen.
Despite his struggles early on, Caleb Williams is living up to his potential. Although the Chicago Bears’ playoff window is shut this season, the team got rid of its offensive coordinator and fired an underwhelming head coach. The rookie has shown immense promise and the future is bright for the Bears.
