Amon Ra St. Brown made the difference for the Detroit Lions in their revenge game against the San Francisco 49ers. The All-Pro receiver was everywhere. He blocked, completed a lateral to Jameson Williams, and caught a tight touchdown catch to give the Lions the lead over the Niners.
The first half belonged to the 49ers and quarterback Brock Purdy who threw multiple touchdown passes to take the lead. It took a smart slant in the fourth quarter from Jared Goff to St. Brown on 4th & goal to give the Lions their first lead on the night.
Eventually, the Niners blew it midway through, after Purdy threw two interceptions, both to Kerby Joseph, who had earlier entangled in a brawl with Jauan Jennings. Moreover, Jake Moody missed two 50+ yard tries and a two-point conversion to make it easier for the Lions to crawl back in.
Josh Dobbs replaced Purdy and even after he rushed for a touchdown, it was too late for the home team to turn the game around. The Lions won 40-34, and Amon Ra St. Brown finished with 8 receptions for 60 yards and 1 touchdown.

That wasn’t even the cool part. According to Bleacher Report, Brown did not drop a single pass this year from 131 targets and caught 107 of them for 1180+ yards and 12 touchdowns (career high).

Receivers are paid to catch the ball and then find ways to score a touchdown. The Lions agreed to a franchise record fee of four years, $120 million because they have faith in the 27-year-old wideout’s abilities.
Brown repaid back with one of the best seasons of his NFL career. Following are some fan reactions on his performance from X:

However, Bleacher Report made a tiny mistake. St. Brown dropped a pass in the second quarter on 3rd & 10 which was followed by Jake Bates’ first 50+ miss of the year. The turnover on downs allowed the Bills to take a 14-point lead after quarterback Josh Allen set up James Cook for a 40-yard rushing touchdown. The Lions lost the game 48-42.
I’m a lions fan and I watched him drop only 1 ball this season tbh

Regardless, dropping one pass from 100+ targets is no small feat either. After the game St. Brown spoke with NFL Network’s Omar Ruiz who asked the two-time Pro Bowler the reason behind the Lions’ efficiency in the offense.

The Lions offense also reached a milestone. Four players (Amon Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, David Montgomery, and Jahmyr Gibbs) all completed 1000 scrimmage yards (the first team to do it since the Indianapolis Colts in 2004).
