On Sunday, two-time major champion Bernhard Langer and his son Jason Langer successfully defended their PNC Championship title. They would take down the team of Tiger Woods and his son Charlie Woods in a playoff hole to go back-to-back at this event.

Just like Team Woods, Team Langer continued the second round from where they left the first one. Both teams went into the final round as co-leaders alongside Team Singh of Vijay Singh and Qass Singh. While Team Singh fell a bit short, the other two teams kept on going.

With both Team Woods and Team Langer finishing the event 28-under, a sudden-death playoff round was required to determine a winner. In this playoff hole, Charlie Woods saw his putt roll over the edge of the hole which saw him falling down on his knees. Woods would also miss his putt, opening the door for the opponents.

Langer would not pass up the opportunity and sank his putt. The veteran golfer was seen celebrating in joy as he and his son went back-to-back.

Last year, the Team Langer finished 25-under for the tournament and were two strokes ahead of runners-up David Duval and his son Brady Duval.

Astonishingly, this is Langer’s sixth victory in this competition. He won two times with his other son Stefan Langer in 2005 and 2006. Along with Jason, he has emerged victorious in 2014, 2019, 2023 and now 2024.

Their win also denied a first victory in over five years for Tiger Woods. The 48-year-old golfer’s last victory came at the Zozo Championship in 2019. Since then he has suffered several injuries and was involved in a major car crash in 2021, which has significantly reduced his playing time.
