Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 start begins with an injury note
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is already on a rocky start for his 2025 season. Following 2024’s dramatic performance, fans were expectign to see his brilliance in Hawaii. However, the recent surgery put him out of commission for a couple weeks.
Scheffler is currently expected to make his return on January 16 for The American Express tournament at La Quinta, California. He’ll be looking forward to defend his Masters title since his second win last year.
2024 has been a ride for Scottie Scheffler who experienced the spotlight not only on the field but also in an off-field incident. In May Scheffler was accused of breaking traffic rules during a road accident and got arrested during the US PGA Championship.

While he was released shortly, the arrest gained spotlight on social media. The criminal charges were dismissed and the police in charge of the arrest got punished for not having his bodycam on during the scene.
Apart from the arrest, he maintained his ranking position with an Olympic gold, seven PGA Tour titles, and PGA Tour’s Player of the Year award for the third time. However, Scheffler is not the only one with a freak injury.
According to latest reports, Viktor Hovland also posted his freak injury report. Hovland, in an unexpected fashion, fractured his small toe on his right foot in a clash against the bed frame.
Following his update, Collin Morikawa jokingly commented, “I’m wrapping myself in some bubble wrap on the way to Hawaii.” However, Hovland did not mention he’ll be missing out on The Sentry so far. Maybe the fans will get to see him on the greens unlike Scheffler’s confirmation.
