This past weekend, golf saw the coming together of families as the PNC Championship took place. The 36-hole team event saw teams of golf parents and their children having a blast during the tournament. One group though was on top of everyone as the team of two-time Masters winner Bernhard Langer and his son Jason Langer dominated their way to the PNC Championship following an impressive Round 2 performance.

The conclusion of the Round 1 saw Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron take hold of the proceedings. However, Team Kuchar was unable to replicate their performances on Sunday. The slow start from them opened the gates for the other chasing teams.

Team Langer took the most benefit of this slip-up from Team Kucher. Bernhard and his son Jason at times seemed unstoppable as they cruised their way towards the 18-holes. The duo was able to make up the three-shot deficit at the start of the day with the younger Langer in formidable form with his putting.

Eventually, the duo finished 13-under 59 on a windy day. This saw them finish two shots ahead of Team Duval and claim the title. This turned out to be Bernhard Langer’s fifth PNC Championship title, with this being the third with Jason. He previously won this tournament twice with his elder son Stefan Langer.

Bernhard Langer praises son Jason’s exceptional putting skills

In the game of golf, putting is considered one of the hardest things. Some of the biggest names in golf have struggled with this over the years. So for an amateur golfer, this skill is not easy to master. However, Jason Langer, son of Bernhard Langer stunned the world when he seemed in cruise control with this putting. His veteran father later praised the skills of his son.

Due to his working schedule, the 22-year-old Jason is unable to practice golf as much as he wants. He though was reported to come early in Florida to get a little practice session before the event. His little practice paid off it seemed as he hardly missed any putts. The 66-year-old called his son’s performance “incredible” and said this as quoted by SB Nation:

It was incredible. Watching him putt, it was unbelievable. The ball started on line every time, and it missed, that’s because I misread the green. Otherwise, he probably would have made them all.

Speaking of the other teams, the mother-son duo of Anna Sorenstam and Will McGee along with Steve and Izzie Stricker impressed the audiences as well. Meanwhile, all eyes were on the popular duo of Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods. Team Woods put up an impressive showing and posted a score of 61 to finish tied for the fifth spot.

The talking points belonged to Langer and his son Jason who now walk away with the title and a cash prize of $200,000. The German golfer now has five titles in this competition and would be hoping to make it six when the PNC Championship returns next year in 2024.
