Liverpool boss Arne Slot opened up about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer rumors, claiming that his recent ‘all talk’ goal celebration brushes aside those rumors. The 26-year-old made a gesture, after scoring a goal against West Ham in an EPL encounter. The 26-year-old’s contract with the Reds lasts until next summer. He is yet to sign a contract extension, amid strong interest from Real Madrid. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the Reds’ fourth goal in a convincing 5-0 win over West Ham. After his brilliant strike in the 54th minute, assisted by Ryan Gravenberch, Arnold rushed towards the cameras. He held his hand to his ear to imitate a talking reaction, leaving fans in confusion. It was likely a reference to the intense speculation surrounding his future at Liverpool.

Recent reports suggest that Alexander-Arnold has informed the club that he wishes to leave. However, firing back at all such rumors, manager Arne Slot commented upon the right-back’s celebration during the match.

The Dutchman suggested that defender’s gesture had answered all questions, as he indicated that it might be an hint that the player wants to stay back at Anfield. Slot expressed his happiness with Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s performances, despite the speculations surrounding their future.

The 27-year-old forward faces an extended period out on the sidelines despite recovering from the injury that he sustained earlier this season. Chiesa has made just four appearances after joining from Juventus in the summer. After his recent omission from the team, the manager clarified upon his decision. He stated that the club is working on Chiesa’s fitness as well as his reintegration into the side. 

We are working on his match-fitness… so it’s a constant balance we have to find between getting him fitter and fitter and letting him join the team.
