Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t had the best of seasons in the first half of the 2024/25 campaign. Even though the Los Blancos is in pole position to clinch top spot if it manages to win all the games in hand, the poor situation in the Champions League has put considerable pressure on the manager.

The club’s most recent game ended in a resounding 4-2 win over Sevilla in La Liga. However, significant issues in the defensive department, coupled with player fatigue and concerning injuries haven’t made things any easier for Ancelotti.

Real Madrid has managed to secure 40 points from 18 games in the La Liga. However, in the UCL, Real only has 9 points from six games, placing the club in 20th spot below Club Brugge and Feyenoord. The club has a long way to go if they want to repeat as the Champions League winners again.

Carlo Ancelotti hints at Nico Paz’s future at Real Madrid

Amidst an ongoing injury crisis and criticism of Carlo Ancelotti not giving youngsters in the squad a ‘real’ chance, the manager opened up about the possibility of Nico Paz assuming an important role at Real. The 20-year-old was recently sold to Italian side Como in 2024 August.

However, the Spanish giant was cautious enough to include a buyback clause in the youngster’s contract. His recent performances in the Serie A have also been reason for interest from Inter Milan. The Argentine midfielder has made 16 appearances in La Liga, scoring twice and setting up another two goals. Speaking about the player, Ancelotti said that the club is constantly monitoring his progress.

For sure, he can be part of Real Madrid’s future. This season, we needed him to play on a regular basis out of Real Madrid.

Paz left Real for a fee of just €6 million and will most certainly see a significant hike in his valuation on the basis of recent performances. Madrid’s midfield currently features Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos. Only time will tell if the youngster returns to Spain.
