Brazilian starlet Endrick suffered a massive personal loss on Christmas Day after his brother-in-law was shot dead in a ‘targeted’ gun attack at a bar in Brazil. The deceased, 38-year-old Mauricio Nunes Goncalves, was married to Endrick’s older sister, Lavinia Sudre

Mauricio was gunned down by an unidentified assailant at a street bar in Samambaia on the outskirts of Brasilia. He died after receiving several bullet wounds in his head while trying to escape the ‘targeted’ gun attack. The motive behind the gruesome attack remains unknown, as eyewitnesses suggested that there was no prior altercation between the attacker and the deceased.

18-year-old Endrick, who moved to Real Madrid only this summer from Palmeiras, is yet to comment on the unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, Endrick’s elder sister, Lavinia Sudre, shared a social media message after the death of her husband. She changed her Instagram profile picture to one displaying a black ribbon, grieving her beloved’s death.

Lavinia also posted an image of the deceased, naming him under the picture. It was followed by the caption, which said that Maurico left behind beautiful memories, those that she might never forget. Mauricio’s funeral took place late in the afternoon on Thursday.

Brazilian police authorities are reportedly investigating the matter and have questioned individuals related to the incident. Reports have also confirmed that no arrests have been made, with the attacker’s threat looming at large. The unidentified gunman is on the run.

Real Madrid star Endrick shuts down speculation of a January loan move to the Premier League

Los Blancos are expected to be busy in the upcoming winter transfer window amid the club’s worrying injury crisis. One player, however, has been linked with a move out of Real Madrid. Endrick could seek a loan move out, owing to the lack of playing opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti.

Endrick has struggled to gain prominence at Real Madrid since joining this summer. 11 out of his 12 appearances this season have been from the bench, and he has scored just two goals. This has led to speculation that he could push for a loan move. However, the 18-year-old reportedly rubbished rumors by insisting that he has no plans to leave. He pointed towards working hard to gain more opportunities.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead for the young Brazilian talent and his future at Real Madrid. Struggling EPL side Southampton have reportedly shown interest in securing Endrick on loan for the rest of the season. A few other La Liga clubs are also interested.
