Marseille forward Neal Maupay has left Everton fans enraged after he took to social media to poke fun at his parent club in a recent post. He had signed for the Toffees from Brighton in 2022. The Frenchman taunted his former club Everton for their recent form, following the club’s disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the EPL.
Neal Maupay currently plays on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille after enduring a miserable spell at Everton. In 12 matches for Marseille this season, he has scored twice and assisted four times, helping the club remain 2nd on the Ligue 1 table. While Maupay’s loan contract comes to an end next year, he hopes to extend his stay in France.
Everton on the other hand, are currently battling relegation fears, and have won just one out of the last ten matches. Following the Toffees’ recent 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Neal Maupay expressed contentment with their struggles.
He took to social media to surprisingly exclaim that he checks Everton’s results whenever he is having a bad day, as it lights up his mood. He received severe backlash for his comments. Former boxer and Everton fan Tony Bellew aimed an offensive remark at the French forward. Maupay instantly responded by claiming that the Toffees would play in the Championship next season.
Whenever I’m having a bad day I just check the Everton score and smile 🙂

This is not the first time that Neal Maupay has taunted Everton on social media. The 28-year-old forward had previously posted a clip from a movie to show relief after departing Everton for Marseille. Following his recent antics, it remains clear that the Frenchman will not return to Merseyside anymore.
Everton boss Sean Dyche reveals ‘support’ from the club’s new owners The Friedkin Group
Under-fire Everton manager Sean Dyche recently stated that he has received ‘nothing but support’ from the club’s new owners, Friedkin Group. This support comes despite their poor form. Everton are currently struggling in the Premier League as they remain in the 16th position on the table.
The Friedkin Group most recently bought a 94.1 percent share in Everton from former owner, billionaire Farhad Moshiri. The recent takeover is set to bring significant changes at the club. Revealing details of his conversation with new chairman Marc Watts, Dyche stated that they spoke about the future of the club. He noted the support he received from the new owners, and hoped to win more matches.
Moreover, he added that the new owners have prioritized financial stability while moving forward. Interestingly, Friedkin Group’s first major change at Everton will be the team’s movement to a new water-front stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock from Goodison Park.
