Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa has reportedly expressed his desire to depart the club in January. This comes just five months after joining them in the summer. The Italian international has made just four appearances this season. The 27-year-old former Juventus star is aiming to secure a loan move, with several Serie A clubs interested.
Federico Chiesa has struggled to make it to Arne Slot’s Liverpool line-up, after joining the club for a shocking transfer fee of just €12 million. He was initially brought in to provide a backup for Mohamed Salah. However, he has failed to do so, owing to persistent injury problems. Chiesa was unconvincing when he returned from a two-month long injury most recently.
During Liverpool’s 2-1 EFL Cup quarter-final victory over Southampton, Chiesa did not have a standout performance. Recent reports suggest that the 27-year-old is analyzing his options ahead of the January transfer window. He has fallen down the pecking order in Liverpool’s attack, behind Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
Napoli, Inter Milan and his former club Fiorentina are said to be interested. Moreover, a loan move would help the 2020 Euro winner get valuable playing time. As such, he could return to Anfield at his his best if that possibility remains.
🚨 Federico Chiesa could leave Liverpool just 6 months after arriving, with Inter interested in a loan deal in January.

However, Federico Chiesa’s massive annual wages of €7.5 million could pose a challenge. Liverpool might resent it, as they would have to pay half of his salary. Apart from Chiesa, midfielder Wataru Endo, who has also seen his role reduce under Arne Slot, might also move out.
Liverpool line up Fulham right-back as Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement amid exit rumors
The Reds have reportedly identified a new player to replace long-time right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. This comes due to consistent rumors that the 26-year-old could join Real Madrid in the future. The club has shown interest in signing Fulham star Antonee Robinson.
Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield remains uncertain as his contract comes to end next summer. Marca’s recent report indicates that the Englishman has told the Reds that he wants to leave. In case he departs, the club will hope to sign Antonee Robinson as a replacement. The 27-year-old full-back has been a revelation under Marco Silva, and has provided six assists in 18 matches for the Cottagers.

However, the Ameican’s contract at the London side runs until the summer of 2028. This effectively means that Liverpool would have to pay around €40 to €50 million in order to sign him. The Reds’ primary objective, therefore, would be to tie down Arnold. As such, the summer of 2025 could give further answers on what will happen.
