Beyonce surprised everybody when she announced her inclusion in the NFL Christmas Day halftime performance. As excited as they were, the disappointments were quick to follow for the fans who tuned in. Her mother and former manager Tina Knowles has now stepped in to clap back at the haters.
Knowles took to Instagram to express her views on the recent criticism of Beyonce for her halftime performance. Starting off, she posted a screenshot of another user addressing the uncalled-for critique. The said user primarily spoke about how society as a whole did not define a person considering how a global popstar like Beyonce can be scrutinized.
Chiming in with agreement, Beyonce’s mom went to the caption to call out the haters. Tina Knowles also reflected on her daughter’s strength, sharing how much she had learned from her.
Beyonce took the stage at the Houston Texas vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Christmas in Houston. The Halo singer was joined by Post Malone, Shaboozey, and her daughter, 12-year-old Blue Ivy Carter. The show started with a prerecorded clip of the singer in a white cowboy hat singing her hit “16 Carriages”. Beyonce continued it by beginning her live show in a white leotard and matching chaps. The entire performance featured songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter.
Post the performance, many fans took to social media to express their discontent. Some called the music ‘overrated’ while others doubted the musicality of the genre in the music. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy also took to X to write that Beyonce had been ‘lost’ since her album Destiny’s Child.
Beyonce takes a playful dig at Netflix prior to Christmas Day performance
Beyonce’s much-awaited halftime performance at the Texas vs. Ravens game was not free of speculations from the public. The second thought arose from the fans’ sour experience with Netflix and its streaming services. During the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul bout broadcast, the fans faced several buffering issues, making them unsure whether the platform could handle the surge.

Amid all that, Beyonce took the fiasco and made it into a marketing strategy at the expense of a playful dig. In a promotional video posted on X, Beyonce seemed to be playing banjo as the clip lags. Little did the viewers know it was a part of the 30-second skit as it ended with a humorous wink from Beyonce.
As a response, the streaming giant has made ample efforts to better their services. Netflix amped up their technology to ensure a smooth experience for the viewers for Christmas Day games. Now, Beyonce’s performance will be available on the platform as a separate show to watch.
