Jasprit Bumrah is currently the best bowler across formats in the world. In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 in Australia, Bumrah has been at his peak and has been definitely the best bowler in the three Test matches. He has scalped 21 wickets and has a legendary bowling average of 10.90 in this series. This shows the impact that he has had singlehandedly in his team.
Former India head coach and cricketer, Ravi Shastri, compared Bumrah with the legendary Malcolm Marshall. He feels that Bumrah reads the batter’s minds excellently well, just like Marshall used to do.
Both of these bowlers have had an incredible ability to adapt to the conditions on offer, read the batter’s strengths and weaknesses, and bowl according to them.
Shastri also reminded everyone that Bumrah has picked up close to 200 wickets at an incredible bowling average of close to 17. He heaped praise on Bumrah’s ability to strike with the reverse swing with the old ball if he has not picked wickets with the new ball.
