Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made headlines on Day 3 of the fourth Test match between Australia and India at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. He smashed his maiden international century against one of the most potent attacks in world cricket currently. At the end of the day’s play, he is batting on 105 runs from 176 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six.
Former India opener Sunil Gavaskar heaped praise on Reddy for his splendid hundred and also predicted that he is going to score many more in his international career. However, he gave a piece of advice to Reddy to stay grounded and remember the sacrifices made by his father to be successful in his career.
Reddy stitched together an important 127-run partnership with Washington Sundar when India were in trouble. His century and Sundar’s half-century helped India eat away a chunk of the Australian lead.

Gautam Gambhir and the team management trusted Reddy at the start of the series, and the player has paid rich dividends. He has been the most consistent Indian batter in the three Test matches and finally scored a century to prove his talent and class.
As per the stats, he is also the batter with the least percentage of false shots played in the series. Reddy has shown the talent to bat in the top 6 in the Indian batting order and has announced his arrival.
At the end of the day’s play, India have scored 358 runs for the loss of nine wickets. They still trail by 116 runs in the first innings. On day 4, Reddy will hope for some support from Mohammed Siraj at the other end and try to eat more into the lad of Australia to bring India back in the game more.
Meanwhile, the series is level at 1-1, with India winning the first Test in Perth and Australia winning the second Test in Adelaide. The third Test match of the series ended in a draw in Brisbane.
