There hasn’t been much to celebrate for Stephen Ross over the course of the season. So when Jaylen Waddle went off against the New England Patriots, the Miami Dolphins owner finally loosened up and broke out a few dance moves.

The Dolphins were on the up after the return of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. After winning back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Rams and the Las Vegas Raiders, Mike McDaniel’s team looked the favorites to beat divisional rivals, the New England Patriots.

Tagovailoa dropped four touchdowns on Sunday. He fed running back De’Von Achane a couple and Waddle and tight end Jonnu Smith one each.

Tagovailoa found Waddle through a dot near the center circle, and he cut a couple of Patriots defenders to bundle the ball in for a TD. This made Stephen Ross smile, and the veteran owner began dancing in his VIP suite.

However, the joy was short-lived as the Patriots mustered a late comeback. Quarterback Drake Maye connected with Austin Hooper for a 38-yard touchdown and then a 63-yard return from Christian Gonzalez after a fumble during a handoff to Jaylen Wright from backup QB Skylar Thompson.

The resurgence was short-lived, and the game finished 15-34 for the Dolphins. It extended the Dolphins’ winning streak to three games.

There are only six games left until the regular season ends. In retrospect, the season has been underwhelming for McDaniel’s team and certainly for Waddle, who boasted three consecutive 1000-yard seasons to start his NFL career.

Before facing the Patriots, he was third on the charts behind Smith and Tyreek Hill. The former first-round pick added 144 yards to the total, increasing his numbers, but he is still behind schedule for another thousand-yard campaign. Regardless, his second touchdown of the season is sure to give him more confidence in the remaining games.

Determination. West’s been telling men to get in the box all week and previous weeks and uh, just had to fight and get in there for real.

One of the reporters asked the 25-year-old if he saw the video of Stephen Ross dancing.

I didn’t [no] I did not. Ross be hittin it through, Ross be hittin.

After 11 games, Jaylen Waddle has 41 receptions from 56 targets for 548 yards (13.4 yards per catch) and 2 touchdowns. The Dolphins will travel to Green Bay next week to play the Packers.
