Klay Thompson clarifies his comments about Reggie Miller and Stephen Curry

Klay Thompson recently eclipsed his childhood hero, Reggie Miller, to clinch the 5th spot on the all-time three-pointers list on Christmas Day. What seemed like a fable out of a fiction novel, was actually how the storyline played out. Thompson took some time on this occasion to commemorate the person he grew up watching—Reggie Miller.

However, this moment of joy was met with some backlash from Warriors fans. Thompson wrote in his caption that Reggie was the “greatest to ever shoot it,” which many interpreted as him taking subtle shots at his former teammate, the other Splash Brother, Stephen Curry.

Curry is widely regarded as the undisputed greatest shooter of all time. Clarifying his statement, Thompson replied to a comment on his post.

My man lemme clarify. I wrote this caption with my childhood in mind. At the time Reggie was the standard for off-guards and ball movement along with shot-making. We all know 30 is the GOAT shooter.

Thompson’s comment clarified his position and where he was coming from. He also went on to call Chef Curry the greatest shooter, highlighting the bond they share. Having played together for over 13 years on the Golden State Warriors and building the Warriors dynasty from the ground up, there’s a reason Dub Nation dubbed this duo of shooters the “Splash Brothers.”

As of now, Stephen Curry sits comfortably at the top of the all-time three-pointers list with 3,853 made. Next is James Harden with 3,024, followed by Ray Allen at 2,973. Fourth on the list is Damian Lillard with 2,686 threes, with Thompson closely trailing him with 2,565 threes.

Klay Thompson goes viral for cooking a disrespectful delivery driver

Ahead of the Mavericks vs. Portland match-up, Klay Thompson was outside his hostel in Portland, signing some autographs before the game. While he was surrounded by fans, a delivery driver hurled some disrespectful remarks in Thompson’s direction.

Heckler shouted, “I’m the only one that doesn’t give a f*ck, I don’t even know who the f*ck you are.”
To which Thompson replied, “But you are over there watching, you bum. What are you talking about? Go deliver the package, go do your job, why are you standing there? Go do your job, you f****** weirdo.”

Fans were delighted to witness their favorite player shut down the heckler in an instant. Later that day, Klay Thomspon recorded 12 points, one rebounds, one assists and one steal in a close contest against the Blazers that ended up in a defeat. Next, Dallas Mavericks will go head-to-head with the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
