Teoscar Hernandez gets his Christmas wish fulfilled after the Los Angeles Dodgers and the outfielder agree to a 3-year $66 million deal. The news was confirmed on Friday night after Hernandez posted on his Instagram story “I’m back 😎🔥💙”.
The deal offers a team option for 2028 with $15 million on the line with a $6.5 million buyout. It also includes a $23 million signing bonus and $23 million in deferred money.
At one point the fans were unsure about Teoscar Hernandez’s reunion with the Dodgers. Following 2024, Hernandez became an absolute fan favorite in LA, especially after the World Series win.
Before hitting free agency, the outfielder time and again mentioned how he “1,000” percent wanted to be back with the Dodgers, and he finally had his dream come true. He is currently enjoying his prime year in 32 and is expected to have strong seasons in the following years.

The Los Angeles Dodgers is his third MLB team after he played with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. The Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox were strong competitors for Hernandez in free agency but lost out to the Dodgers in the end.
He was the only Dodgers free agent to receive a $21.05 million qualifying offer, which he later rejected. During the postseason, he racked up 3 HRs, 12 RBIs, 10 walks, and reached bases safely for 15 times.

Teoscar Hernandez emotionally noted how much he loved LA fans and he wanted to do everything to be back with the Dodgers. Even after the World Series parade, he noted “My hopes are really high” and the team did not disappoint.
Manager Dave Roberts talked about how much Hernandez meant for the team and they are finalizing a contract. However, the hold-up was from the Dodgers’ side and many doubted if they’ll ever come to agree on a deal.

Now with Hernandez back on the team, the Dodgers are ready for their 2025 challenge. Their lineup is as ruthless as last year with Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Blake Snell, and Michael Conforto in the lineup.
