“They sensitive and terrible!” Anthony Edwards rips referees over Warriors game officiating
After losing to Golden State Warriors, Anthony Edwards sounds off on the poor officiating, blasting the referees publicly.
Anthony Edwards vent against the officials
After making a deep playoff run to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves are seemingly losing the momentum and swagger they once played with. Since trading Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks, they don’t seem like the same team. Currently sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference with a 14-13 record, Minnesota is struggling to find offensive rhythm.
After the Timberwolves were bested by the Golden State Warriors on their home turf at Target Center with a final score of 113-103, the team looked increasingly frustrated with the officials and their poor officiating. Calling out the referees of the game, Minnesota’s leader, Anthony Edwards, vented his frustrations in a post-game locker room interview.
Given the profanity and the intensity with which Ant-Man slammed the officials—Sean Wright and Sean Corbin—he can expect a hefty penalty. This wouldn’t be the first time Anthony Edwards will have to incur the fine for blasting the referees. Last season Anthony was charged with $40,000 fine for publicly calling out the officials “bad and terrible“.

Besides the officiating troubles, the Minnesota Timberwolves are also dealing with a lack of synergy on the offensive end. Edwards has struggled to get past the 20-point mark in the last two games at their home court. In the matchup against the Warriors, Edwards only had 19 points on 6-20 shooting from the field, with seven rebounds, five assists, and no steals or blocks.
Anthony Edwards frustrated with the team’s lacking offense
After Timberwolves loss at the hands of Karl-Anthony Towns’ led New York Knicks, Anthony Edwards was having a trouble holding back on his frustration with his teammates. Censoring himself to avoid creating any animosity in the locker-room, when a reporter asked him what they can do to fix their offensive scheme, Ant-Man refused to answer, saying“

"We don't have shit on offense. We don't have no identity. We know I'm gonna shoot a bunch of shots, we know Ju gonna shoot a bunch of shots, and that's all we know." https://t.co/Lh3W8sFRtL pic.twitter.com/HR6udkJlr7
Following this, Edwards also touched on how everybody expects him to go downhill to throw down a dunk or a layup, but it’s difficult when the opposition doesn’t provide him with an open lane. Talking about how teams have been doing a good job of containing his explosive drives to the rim, he said there’s nothing he can do when there isn’t a lot of space.
Although Anthony Edwards, frustrated by both the referees’ calls and the team’s performance, has voiced his concerns, their path forward remains unclear. While officiating has certainly contributed to their discontent, it is clear that the team’s offensive struggles and lack of cohesion are at the heart of their recent woes.
