The Dallas Mavericks most recently played against the Memphis Grizzlies at the American Airlines Center in the NBA Cup. What seemed to be a routine win for the Mavs, turned out to be a thrilling spectacle for the fans watching this game. Nevertheless, the Mavs came out victorious but the Grizzlies gave them a run for their money. Mavs stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving stepped up in attack for this win.
Irving, Klay Thompson, Dereck Lively II, and Doncic all made their injury comebacks on Tuesday. The Mavs endured a poor 3rd quarter, which left them trailing going into the 4th quarter. However, Irving and Doncic combined in attack, resulting in a comeback win. This result has set the Maverick fans into a frenzy.
Kyrie Irving, in particular, was left ecstatic after the Mavs win. After the game, Irving was spotted hyping up himself after producing a top performance against the Grizzlies.

It was Doncic that starred against the Grizzlies. He had 37 points and 12 rebounds, with his teammate, Irving supporting him with, 10 points and 6 rebounds. Also, clutch 3-pointers from Spencer Dinwiddie and PJ Washington Jr. in the closing two minutes helped as well. Ultimately, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 121-116 after trailing by 15 points.
As for the Grizzlies, Ja Morant achieved a season-high 31 points, 15 of which came in the fourth quarter. They were eliminated from the Cup race after their season-long six-game winning streak was broken.
Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 16 points in losing the game, and Desmond Bane added 19 points in the loss to the Mavericks.
Arena erupts after witnessing Spencer Dinwiddie score back-to-back threes against Grizzlies
The Dallas Mavericks and their stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving earned a hard-fought win against the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Cup. With this win, the Mavs are now in contention for the NBA Cup quarterfinals. Furthermore, to secure the West Wild-Card place, the Mavericks needed to win and receive assistance on the last night of group play. Luckily, they got the win on Tuesday.
It was all thanks to Spencer Dinwiddie, who scored back-to-back 3-pointers that gave his side the lead. In addition, Dinwiddie’s 3-pointers left the NBA fans as well as the crowd go ‘wild’ as the Mavs overcame a 15-point deficit. Also, with 3:34 remaining and trailing 111-103, the Mavs went on a 16-3 run. This was highlighted by two 3-pointers from Dinwiddie and one from PJ Washington.

The Mavericks, who have won nine of their previous ten games and a season-high five straight, had 18 points from Washington, 17 points and 11 rebounds from Dereck Lively II, and 16 points from Dinwiddie. It will be interesting to watch how they perform in their upcoming matches this season.
