Sonya Curry too had a prominent sporting background. She played college volleyball for Virginia Tech where she excelled in college records and was a student-athlete. Dell and Sonya met for the first time at Virginia Tech where they eventually fell in love. The couple wedded in 1988, and after 33 years of marriage, the two decided to get separated in August 2021 per NY Post.
