Besides racing, Lewis Hamilton has become an icon in the fashion industry worldwide. His love for the same did not go unnoticed by Met Gala chairperson Anna Wintour, who invited the seven-time champion to co-host the 2025 edition of the marquee event. However, it’s not as easy as it looks on the surface, Hamilton deemed the whole process nerve-wracking.

Lewis Hamilton made his first Met Gala appearance in 2015 and has been a regular attendee since. The 39-year-old has been praised by multiple drivers for his work in the fashion field. Moreover, he has made extensive efforts in both spheres to make them more diverse and inclusive.

On one side, it’s really exciting. On the other side, it’s nerve-wracking. What are you going to wear? How are you going to show up? The different things that we can do, how we can really utilize the night and the platform that we have to really create opportunity for people. There’s a lot of work to do.

Though the 39-year-old is worried about the intricacies of hosting such a grand event, he would not be alone in this task. The NBA Megastar LeBron James is the honorary co-chair of the fashion festival, and all the icons are hoping to make next year’s Gala a grand success.

Lewis Hamilton’s take on the challenges he faces in fashion industry

Hamilton is statistically the greatest driver ever to grace the F1 grid. He has amassed seven world titles and has a staggering 105 wins. With this, the task of keeping up with other interests is an intimidating one, which the 39-year-old is powering through daily as his love for fashion deepens.

Subsequently, he elucidated how going on with his daily life as a driver is already an extensive task, making following up with the fashion world quite hectic.

Keeping your ear on the ground and staying in touch with what’s happening in the fashion world when you’re racing and you have this job, it’s really tough. It’s a real, real challenge to keep your ear on the ground, seeing all the shows, all the different collections that come out constantly. It’s double the work obviously because I really like to keep an eye out with all the different shapes of outfits, the textiles, the materials people are using.

On the other hand, the Ferrari-bound driver would make his first run with the Scuderia next month. He would be driving the SF-23 around Ferrari’s private test track in Fiorano and is expected to get a great welcome by the Tifosi.

The seven-time champion would be repping the red outfit at the F1 75 event in London for the grand livery reveal. This will take place before the scarlet duo (Charles Leclerc and Hamilton) flies back to Italy for Ferrari’s own car reveal.
