Saquon Barkley has enjoyed a relatively successful season since transferring to the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason from an ailing New York Giants. In an already record-breaking season, Barkley added one more feather to his achievements on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
Saquon Barkley delivered an extraordinary performance, amassing 302 yards from scrimmage in a commanding 37-20 victory. Barkley set a career-high with 255 rushing yards on 26 carries, including two explosive touchdown runs of 70 and 72 yards in the second half. He had 47 yards through the air with four receptions to his name.
Through Week 12, Barkley has built a profile to put his previous employees to shame. Through 11 games, Saquon Barkley has rushed for a career-high 1,392 yards. He has already surpassed his previous best of 1,312 yards achieved with the Giants in 2022. Barkley is on track to challenge the long-standing single-season rushing record of 2105 yards averaging 126.5 yards per game.
Speaking to the media, Barkley refused to take credit for his incredible performance. He expressed that it was a team effort that led to the outcome.
Barkley, who’s known to be humble and grounded, also shared his two cents on the MVP buzz. The recent performances have placed Barkley as a front-runner to challenge the quarterbacks and Derrick Henry for the MVP title.
He admitted prioritizing the Super Bowl, putting the same above any individual positions he might receive. Philadelphia Eagles are one of the top contenders to take the coveted Lombardi home this season.
