Malik Nabers chooses to keep mum over Giants fans getting upset about team not wanting to tank for Shedeur Sanders
Malik Nabers put up 170+ receiving yards in a win over the Indianapolis Colts but at the same time it also dropped them from the top pick to fourth in the 2025 NFL draft.

Malik Nabers has found himself on the losing side 13 times with the New York Giants in his rookie season. Yet, just when everyone thought the tanking was well and truly on for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft the Giants picked up a shock win in week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts.
In Anthony Richardson’s absence veteran quarterback Joe Flacco started for the Colts but was still favored to win and keep their playoff dreams alive. However, it was Giants QB Drew Lock who threw 4 touchdowns and rushed for another (a total of five touchdowns) to win 45-33 in New York.
A Giants victory not only ended the Colts’ playoff dreams but also removed them from the top pick for the 2025 NFL Draft for the time being. After the game reporters asked Nabers what he would say to the Giants fans who wanted the team to lose for the No. 1 pick.
Malik Nabers is asked about what he would tell fans that potentially wanted the Giants to lose today in order to secure draft position:

Nabers came from a school that teaches its players to win rather than tanking. He carried forward that gene with him to the Giants team. Even though they are 3-13 and have one win at home all year, they cut former starting quarterback Daniel Jones and essentially gave up the top pick in the draft. Nabers would rather win than tank.
Malik Nabers makes history for the Giants
The main benefactor to Lock’s service was Nabers. Not once but twice he zigzagged his way through to the end zone against the Colts from seven receptions and a mammoth 171 receiving yards.
Nabers etched his name in record books after crossing 100 receptions and 1000 receiving yards in his rookie season. In 16 games, he has 104 receptions for 1140 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
It was the first time since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2018 (1052) that any Giants receiver crossed the 1000 receiving yards threshold. Even though anyone who keeps tabs on the Giants would point out he is a cut above the rest, the LSU graduate believes he reached such a milestone because of the players around him.

After Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson has the best numbers. Robinson caught 83 passes for 656 yards and 3 touchdowns, followed by Darius Slayton with 39 receptions for 573 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Giants will be on away duty on the final day. They face former running back Saquon Barkley, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles and only needs 100 yards to set the record for most rushing yards in a single season. He could spoil the Giants’ pursuit of the top pick in the draft.
