After Browns fans booed an injured Deshaun Watson, pass rusher Myles Garrett defended his teammate, offering a positive perspective and criticizing the crowd's reaction.

Myles Garrett sounded unhappy with Cleveland Browns fans for booing Deshaun Watson. The all-pro edge rusher called them out during the post-game presser following a 21-14 loss to divisional rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals.
It was the Browns’ sixth loss of the year, but that wasn’t the pressing issue during and after the game. Quarterback Deshaun Watson left the field after suffering an injury, and fans mercilessly booed him while he was being carted away, which left a sour taste in some of the players’s mouths, including Garrett.

Calling Watson a ‘model citizen’ doesn’t erase the fact that he has several assaults and harassment cases active against him. As many as 22 women have come forward accusing the 29-year-old of forcing himself onto them.
Watson served 11 games during his second year with the Browns and paid a $5 million fine. Despite the punishments, if the police prove the allegations against him, then the league will have to take action as well.
Myles Garrett did not mince his words
After branding Watson as a textbook upstanding citizen, Garrett continued his scathing criticism of the Browns fans. He was livid to hear all the boos reigning down from the stands for a player who was on the ground in agony.
The reigning DPOY understands the frustration that has been building because of the losses, but from his point of view, that doesn’t give fans the right to boo someone when they are down and hurt. Kevin Stefanski had the chance to start with Jameis Winston, but according to the Browns head coach, Watson gave them the best chance of winning, so he stuck with the Pro Bowler.
Naturally, fans weren’t on board with the decision, and they clearly made their voice heard during kick-off and after Watson got injured.
Fourth-year cornerback Greg Newsome II shared thoughts similar to Garrett’s on X (previously Twitter).
aye mannn if you cheer for a guy being injured you need to look yourself in the mirror that’s BULLSHIT. Be better.

Deshaun Watson injury update
The reporters hogged Stefanski after the game and asked about the seriousness of Watson’s injury.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport speculated that it’s a torn Achilles and Watson may be out for the rest of the year.

Deshaun Watson is in his fourth season with the Browns after moving from the Texans. He signed a mammoth five-year, $230 million deal (fully guaranteed) with the Cleveland franchise in exchange for first-round draft picks in 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as the Browns’ third-round pick in 2023 and fourth-round picks in 2022 and 2024.
