Whether or not Antonio Pierce regrets suggesting the Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should retire, his teammate Tyreek Hill made sure to capitalize on the situation by throwing a victory in the Las Vegas Raiders head coach’s face. This Week 11 victory not only kept their playoff hopes alive, but also provided satisfaction to the team and fans following Pierce’s unsolicited advice.

Back in September, Tagovailoa raised concerns across the NFL after suffering his third recorded concussion. The Raiders head coach, among those advising the quarterback to consider retirement, urged him to prioritize his family over football for the sake of his long-term health.

However, the minute the Pro Bowler recovered, he went back to the field– not just because his team needed it, but also because he felt there was still time before he hung up his cleats. On Sunday, the Dolphins demonstrated to Pierce that he should focus more on his struggling team, which sank to a 2-8 record with no playoff hope in sight.

Since dominating the game from the beginning, Tagovailoa pulled off a remarkable 57-yard touchdown throw aimed at tight end Jonnu Smith to seal the feat at 34-19. Star wide receiver Hill took his opportunity to acknowledge the presence of the Raiders head coach on the sidelines by rubbing the victory in his face.

Hill was utterly proud of his quarterback, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns to lead the team to victory. And he made sure to flaunt this performance in Pierce’s face, proving that Tagovailoa is far from being retired at this point.

Tyreek Hill commits to playing through wrist pain

Although the eight-time Pro Bowler did not sit out the Week 11 game, his participation in Thursday’s practice session was limited due to his wrist injury.

He sustained the injury in August during joint practice with the Washington Commanders, which worsened in the regular season, as he continued playing and has yet to undergo surgery.

At the end of the day, I just got to suck it up and just deal with the pain. It’s going to get worse the more I play, but I got to [gut] it out for my team. I’m here, I’m locked in no matter what, no matter how I feel. So even if I’ve got to cut my wrist off, I’m still out there because I love the game of football.

He also revealed that most of the doctors he consulted regarding his injury recommended surgery. However, he emphasized that the final decision was his, and he plans to wait until the end of the season before undergoing any procedure.

This unfortunately has impacted his performance, as he has managed only 523 yards with 44 receptions and barely three touchdowns.
