After a stellar time playing for USC, Caleb Williams has encountered significant challenges in his debut NFL season as the Chicago Bears struggle with a 4-10 season record. That’s why his reaction sitting on the sideline during the MNF game appeared somewhat justified, but not to Emmanuel Acho.
The Bears endured a brutal defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings at 30-12 but the highlight of the night was the rookie quarterback’s disappointed reaction from the sideline after he sustained a hard hit by linebacker Jihad Ward. While many sympathized with Williams, his flumping reaction on the bench irritated some, including the sports analyst Acho.
During Tuesday’s episode of Fox Sports 1’s The Facility, the Sports Emmy-winning analyst shared his unfiltered reaction to Williams’ body language on the sideline while he continued struggling to move the ball around on the field, calling it “irritating.”
“Caleb Williams’ body language is starting to become not just concerning, but irritating.”

Acho believes Williams needs to realize that he needs to start from the very basics to build his prominence in the league, unlike college football. Regardless of how standout of a player he was for USC and winning the Heisman Trophy, he will have to put in an enormous effort to achieve that in the league.
Olin Kreutz links Caleb Williams’ sideline reaction to Bears’ internal chaos
While the former linebacker called Williams’ sideline reaction as ‘irritating,’ former Bears star Olin Kreutz connected it to the chaos inside the Bears building. He claimed that Williams might be grappling with guilt over the unrest within the franchise after Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron and head coach Matt Eberflus got fired.
Hall of Famer Troy Aikman also addressed the viral sideline moment during an ESPN broadcast and expressed his concerns about it, believing that the young quarterback might be losing confidence in himself as his team struggles with an eight-game losing streak.
