The 2024 season appears to be the golden year for Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills as he has become a topic of discussion beyond the horizons of football as well. While there have been a lot of comparisons between him and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, NBA legend Paul Pierce believes Allen is exhibiting traits similar to the GOAT Michael Jordan.
Joining Joy Taylor and Keyshawn Johnson on Speak, Pierce went into the elaborative discussion of the NFL MVP amid the various debates on the most deserving candidate between Allen and Jackson. In a bold comparison, the Celtics legend drew parallels between the Bills quarterback with the basketball icon, Jordan– dismissing the Baltimore Ravens quarterback entirely from the discussion.

Additionally, Pierce emphasized that Allen and his Bills are the only team to defeat the Chiefs (15-1) record this season, while also giving one of the only two losses to the Detroit Lions. Though it’s undeniable that Jackson’s numbers are better, he has had a prominent weapon like Derrick Henry on his side.
Josh Allen’s leadership and performance shine as MVP race heats up
Throughout the 2024 campaign, Allen has starred in the headlines with his candidacy in the MVP conversation and he solidified his odds to the best with his refined decision-making skills, complete command of the offense, and ability to thrive under pressure. And the Christmas surprise from his offense line portrayed the kind of respect he holds in the locker room.
What’s more surprising and applaudable is the fact that Allen has played the MVP-level season with an injury in his non-throwing arm. And he continues to thrive while aiming to bring home the Super Bowl trophy at any cost.
