After a disappointing second year with the Jets Aaron Rodgers may be his way out of the Big Apple and could end up with the Pittsburgh Steelers according to Mike Florio.

Aaron Rodgers’ future with the New York Jets remains uncertain, but the 41-year-old quarterback isn’t ready to hang up his boots just yet. He has aspirations of winning a couple more Super Bowls before calling time on his career.
On the other hand, if the Jets’ teenage owner does release him, Rodgers will not whine or be mad but rather accept it and look for a new team. While teams will be on the lookout for a veteran head to add to their locker room, only a few can match the former NFL MVP’s ambition.
There’s a surprising team that could shock the league by snapping Aaron Rodgers. NBC Sports Pro Football Talk’s host Mike Florio floated a theory recently, linking the Pittsburgh Steelers with Rodgers.
Does Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh Steelers make sense?
The Steelers currently employ 37-year-old Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as their quarterback pair. Despite starting the season well, winning 10 games, Tomlin’s team lost three in eleven days, all against playoff-caliber teams.
Even though Wilson looked settled in Pittsburgh, the recent run of games has lowered his chances of a further extension. On top of it, analysts like Shannon Sharpe and Richard Sharp aren’t convinced that Wilson is the right man to take the Steelers to the next level.
Parting ways with the Pro Bowler makes sense considering they can replace him with Rodgers.
This leaves the Steelers with Fields who is a raw talent and has shown flashes of brilliance but also has a few red flags in him as well. It’s more than likely they will let the Ohio State graduate walk before giving him a new deal.
Moreover, if the Steelers choose to break the quarterback partnership and bring in an aging Rodgers then they will also be inviting the rumored toxic traits that have riled up ESPN analysts in the past couple of weeks. Everything rests on how the current season pans out. They still have one game left against the 7-8 Cincinnati Bengals. A win will guarantee an 11-7 finish, making them strong contenders for the AFC wild card.
