This season has officially worsened for the New York Jets, who dropped to a 4-13 standing after another crushing loss to the Buffalo Bills. Jeff Ulbrich appeared disappointed with the offense, but his reluctance to elaborate when asked about it has left fans worried.
The Jets’ offense crumbled on the field without recording any touchdowns, marking the 14th game in a row. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers struggled significantly with 112 yards and two interceptions compared to the Bills’ Josh Allen’s two touchdowns and 182 yards.
During the post-game press conference, when head coach Ulbrich was asked to comment on the offensive struggles, particularly given the high expectations surrounding the quarterback this season, his comments—or lack thereof—left many feeling uneasy about the Jets’ direction as a team.
Jeff Ulbrich was asked how he felt Aaron Rodgers played today:

"I've got to look at the tape. Honestly, I didn't get to see a whole lot of the offense. I was doing a lot of defensive adjustments, especially in that first half." pic.twitter.com/iYld8nVGRr
Rodgers, who’s stuck at 499 touchdown mark, unable to record his 500th touchdown before retirement, made history in the Week 17th game but rather negatively. After losing the 12th game of the season, the veteran quarterback tied for the second most losses by a former MVP quarterback.
Fans react to Jeff Ulbrich’s disastrous answer to Aaron Rodgers’ poor outing
As much as New York fans were disappointed in Rodgers, the interim head coach’s post-game comments sent shockwaves to them. Instead of offering a strong defense or insight into how the team plans to avoid such losses from a future perspective, Ulbrich’s response was vague and unconvincing.
Fans had hoped for a rallying cry or a plan to turn things around, but instead, they were met with uncertainty about the direction in which the Green Gang was headed. One fan wrote, “Major shake up coming at the Jets in a couple of weeks,” while another commented, “What a disastrous answer.” Here are some of the fan reactions:

HC: Did not watch the offense, was too busy adjusting our defense that did not make proper adjustments all game.

Get this guy out of here

He has one week left as an NFL head coach what tape is there to look at. Aaron Rodgers came to NY and crapped out. He was no Mark Messier I can tell you that.

Remember how this guy was going to save season because he was a “player’s coach” that players would die for?
— Mark David (@FReichComeback) December 29, 2024
Maybe if he watched the offense the defense wouldn’t have been gashed for 40 points. Everything this guy coaches turns to sand.

In their 2024 campaign, the Jets have one game left against the Miami Dolphins before they officially conclude another losing season. At this point, fans are worried whether the Jets have any plans to move forward in the offseason to revamp the team and avoid another disastrous season.
