NFL Christmas Day games were meant to be the epitome of football as playoff contenders clashed to prove how good they are. Lamar Jackson did get that memo as he led his Baltimore Ravens to blow the Houston Texans out at their home. Along with that, he went home with another record to his name.
Jackson and his team went on the offensive run from the first whistle as they streaked to score two touchdowns and a field goal. In return, all the Texans could manage was a safety. Jackson used both his arm and his legs as the Ravens probed the home team to find their weakness.
In the second half, after the Ravens intercepted CJ Stroud, Jackson showed what they learnt from all that probing. On the very next drive, first Derrick Henry gained 13 yards on the ground. Then on the next snap, Jackson used an RPO to diagnose the defensive setting.
Once he saw the defense biting into Henry’s run to their left, Jackson pulled the ball back and took off to his right. He showed a sudden burst of speed and continued in that same gear leaving Texans defenders in the dust.

In that 48-yard run, Jackson hit a top speed of 21.25 mph as he ran into the end zone untouched. That touchdown seemed to break the Houston Texans as they continued to embarrass themselves and lose the game 2-31.

The QB was not done for the night as he ran twice more for fourteen yards on their next drive. With that last one, Lamar Jackson entered his name in the NFL history books. He ended his night with 87 rushing yards that brought his career total to 6110.
In doing so, he passed the great Michael Vick in the all-time rushing yards record among quarterbacks. Ever since Lamar Jackson came into the league, he was compared to Vick. However, he took it one step further and won two league MVP awards. That established himself as one of the best to ever play the game.

Setting an NFL all-time record on the way to helping his Baltimore Ravens blowout the Houston Texans was the icing on the Christmas cake. The impact was such that he capped off the drive with a pass with his hands. Then with the win in the bag and the record in his hand, he sat out the rest of the game with a smile on his face.
