The Baltimore Ravens defeated the AFC South divisional champions, the Houston Texans, on the NFL’s Christmas Special by Netflix, and they marched atop the AFC North division with eleven wins. The game also saw Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson making a solid attempt to retain his NFL MVP crown – winning the prestigious award for the third time in his career. Jackson’s colleague and a former favorite for the same award, Derrick Henry, called for Jackson after the win over the Texans.
Jackson played an important role in their Christmas win, with four rushing attempts yielding an impressive 87 yards and a touchdown, including a remarkable 48-yard scoring run in the third quarter. While his passing stats were not too impressive, he still had 15 attempts for 168 yards and two touchdowns. He also hit a personal record of 21.25 in the win over the Texans.
In recent weeks, Jackson has closed the gap between him and Josh Allen for the MVP title. Allen had some interesting games that saw him accumulating feats never seen in the NFL before and had a dismal afternoon against the New England Patriots. After Jackson’s numbers on Thursday, Derrick Henry has his pick as per Ravens reporter Sarah Ellison.

In the game, Jackson also hit a milestone. His career is now standing at a rushing yards total of 6,110 yards, achieved after his performance against the Texans on Christmas Day. This surpasses the previous record held by Michael Vick, establishing a new benchmark for rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history.
This season, Jackson has amassed 3,955 passing yards, accompanied by an impressive 39 touchdowns against only 4 interceptions. This exceptional performance has resulted in a league-leading passer rating of 121.6.
Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry set their sights on Super Bowl and playoffs
After his exceptional performance worthy of the Most Valuable Player award, Jackson participated in a post-game interview with Jamie Erdahl. Erdahl, a member of the illustrious cast assembled by Netflix for this year’s Christmas Day doubleheader, was also invited to conduct the post-game interviews.
During the interview, Erdahl offered both Henry and Jackson customized football-shaped cakes. However, neither player exhibited a significant interest in the confectionery. Erdahl was met with another rejection by the players when she offered them a bite as well. Jackson admitted that he was keen on keeping his diet intact.

Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, especially the latter who spends a fortune on his diet, are athletes with a ferocious mentality to win. An athlete’s diet plays a crucial role in their performance, recovery, and overall health. Consuming junk food can lead to decreased energy levels, impaired focus, and slower recovery times. What was left of Erdahl’s segment? uneaten cakes, a failed promotion, and a painfully awkward interview.
