The reigning Most Valuable Player of the league, Lamar Jackson, is silently closing upon Buffalo Bills’ Californian quarterback Josh Allen to win his third MVP crown. Jackson, known for his dual-threat abilities, could become the fifth player in history to win the coveted award in back-to-back seasons. Green Bay Packers veteran Aaron Rodgers was the last to do it in 2020 and 2021.

As Jackson amps up his performances, the duel is strengthening. The triangular fight between Allen, Jackson, and Philadelphia Eagles’ RB Saquon Barkley is quickly becoming one of the most awaited and interesting storylines of the current season. Emmanuel Acho, former linebacker and a panelist on The Facillity had a lot of takes on the current MVP situation.

Acho has highlighted a long-talked-about aspect: Jackson’s lack of any Lombardis. Acho admitted that Jackson needs a Super Bowl victory to back up his act as one of the strongest and best quarterbacks in the league. After all, absence is much more talked about than any accomplishments.

Lamar can win multiple MVPs, but if you don’t win a Super Bowl, when it’s all said and done, we will talk about the fact that he never won.

The Baltimore Ravens have climbed up the AFC North, much thanks to a resilient Kansas City Chiefs. As the Ravens humiliated the AFC South champions Houston Texans, limiting them to barely two points, the Chiefs ensured that the Steelers wouldn’t come out of this on the safer side.

The Chiefs, who became the first team to win at least 15 games in a season, defeated the Steelers. As it stands, the Steelers have 10 wins while the Ravens have one more. Winning the next game could ensure the Ravens a clear top position.

Emmanuel Acho identifies the divide between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson

The FS1 analyst elaborated on the stark contrast between the challenges faced by Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Allen, according to the analyst, has had to overcome significant obstacles and essentially “create something out of nothing” to achieve his current level of success.

In contrast, Lamar Jackson, given his exceptional natural talent and early success, was expected to consistently produce at an elite level from the outset.

Simply put, Josh Allen has to do just as much, if not more, with less.

Emmanuel Acho stated

As opposed to Jackson, Allen has primarily thrown to a receiving corps that can be characterized as, at best, above average. James Cook, one of the biggest names in the receiving corps, is yet to achieve the 1,000-yard rushing milestone this season.

Ironically, Allen has amassed more rushing yards than Cook with 514 yards on the ground. The stark contrast is one of the primary reasons fans have been chanting and hyping up Allen with more odds to win the MVP award according to DK Sportsbook. Allen currently boasts -550 odds, while Jackson’s odds stand at +400.
