One thing I learned about the whole process is you get a lot of Instagram doctors out there. I had guys diagnosing my injury, PhD doctors. I’m watching a Sunday night game and some doctor is talking about my injury on TV. I couldn’t believe it. I’d never talked to him in my life, he’d never seen imaging, talked to me, diagnosed me. It’s just kind of the world we live in now.

Christian McCaffrey said

The player who was activated from IR after 51 days of inactivation also acknowledged limiting the outside noise and staying focused on his goals.

I tried to stay focused on my plan, what I trusted in, go from there, and limit the outside noise. Because everyone has an answer and they’re all different.

During McCaffrey’s absence, San Francisco’s offense ranked eighth in EPA per rush, with Jordan Mason stepping in as the lead back for eight games. Mason averaged 5.1 yards per carry and scored seven touchdowns during that span.

Christian McCaffrey wants to quash misconceptions about fresh legs

Christian McCaffrey returned to action on Sunday after being sidelined for the first eight games due to Achilles tendinitis. The 28-year-old wasted no time making an impact. McCaffrey admitted not being complete one hundred percent yet. He also told the reporters that it hasn’t been a smooth couch potato life after being diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis.

When you’re dealing with an injury and come back, it’s a common misconception you have fresh legs. For a long time there I was struggling walking to the bathroom. So you can’t train for a long time. They’re fresh in the sense they haven’t been beat up, but you also have to get back into training. That’s why it takes long sometimes.

Earlier, Ed McCaffrey had commented on how constant practice is a key reason for his son’s injury. He also admitted that Christian McCaffrey is a determined person wanting to showcase his best at all times. The 28-year-old is eager to get back to his old form which saw him usurping the NFL OPOY last year.

Nevertheless, he admitted he’s also not an expert on dealing with the injury and needs to roll with the flow. The San Francisco 49ers are set to face divisional rivals Seattle Seahawks to extend their record to 6-4.
