Taylor Swift embraced the Celine Dion lines, cheering her beau and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, from near, far, and wherever she is. Kelce recorded the franchise record for most all-time receiving touchdowns by any Chiefs player in history.

In a game that saw him achieve multiple milestones, Kelce hauled in his 1,000th career reception, a feat unprecedented in Chiefs franchise history. He joins an exclusive club of tight ends in NFL history to reach this milestone, showcasing his remarkable longevity and consistent excellence.

But the accolades didn’t stop there. Later in the game, Kelce’s touchdown reception proved to be the 77th of his career, surpassing the legendary Tony Gonzalez’s long-standing franchise record for most touchdown receptions.  In a fitting tribute to his predecessor, Kelce celebrated the score by “dunking” the ball over the crossbar, a signature move of Gonzalez himself.

Swift expressed her support for Kelce’s recent accomplishment by “liking” the team’s celebratory post on social media. The post proclaimed, “If you ever can’t find Travis, chances are he’s in the end zone. Congrats, @killatrav!” As often, fans were quick to notice the like left by the “‘Tis the damn season” singer.

Other fans and friends joined in to congratulate Kelce on his latest career milestone, including teammate Jody Fortson, who used a goat emoji to salute the fellow tight end.

Tony Gonzalez is happy about Travis Kelce breaking his records

Last month, during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Gonzalez was asked to comment on Kelce’s recent achievements, including surpassing several of his own records. These records include reaching 11,000 receiving yards in the fewest games (154) by a tight end and becoming the Chiefs’ all-time leading receiver.

While Kelce has surpassed some of his records, Gonzalez still holds the NFL record for most receiving yards by a tight end with an impressive total of 15,127 yards. He played for 17 seasons in the league, revered by fans as one of the most respected names in the franchise’s history.

Gonzalez, however, is extremely happy to see Travis Kelce’s growth trajectory in the league so far. He went on to praise the Taylor Swift effect which has taken the league by storm and Kelce as well.

He’s such a good dude and the whole Taylor Swift thing now. I was like, ‘Oh, how cool, I’m getting so popular that a 10-year-old girl [wants to talk to me]. She goes, ‘Hi, Is your name Tony? Do you know Travis Kelce?’ But I think it’s great that Taylor’s done this for the NFL, she’s brought a whole new audience, it’s been great.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 15-1 to the season with only one game left in the 2024 season. The Chiefs have clinched the AFC No. 1 spot, thereby receiving a bye in the first round of the NFL playoffs. Kelce, who’s just has started, has many years in NFL to build upon the records.
