(Video) Brock Purdy shakes off brutal Bears tackle to lead the 49ers to a resounding victory in Week 14
Concerns arose for Brock Purdy's well-being midway through Sunday's game after being steamrolled by Bears players, yet he still led the 49ers to victory.

Brock Purdy once again proved that he deserves the rumored $60 million contract after dismantling the Chicago Bears on Sunday. However, he almost ended up in the hospital for frustrating the Bears’ defense too much.
The 49ers added 24 points in the first half and did not allow a single score to the Bears. It put a few Bears players on the edge. At the start of the fourth quarter, they blitzed hard on Purdy.
Eventually, the Bears’ pass rushers landed a hit on the 24-year-old. The tag team duo of defensive linemen Darrell Taylor and Chris Williams almost snapped Purdy in half as he tried to complete a pass to his tight end, Eric Saubert.
Williams grabbed hold of Purdyâs legs while Taylor jumped onto the third-year signal callerâs torso to bring him down. The fall looked really bad, and Purdy had to come off for a couple of snaps.

In the meantime, Kyle Shanahan sent in Brandon Allen, whose only contribution to the game was to throw an interception.
Brock Purdy leads a commanding victory for the 49ers over Bears
Following the devastating loss in snowy Buffalo a week ago, the Niners fell behind in the playoff race, sitting at the bottom of the NFC West. Mathematically, Shanahanâs team still had the chance to overtake the likes of rivals, the Seahawks, Cardinals, and the Rams with a string of victories.
They got off to a great start with Purdy finding wide receiver Jauan Jennings twice for touchdowns and a handoff to running back Isaac Guerendo (played because of injuries to Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason) in the first half to take a 24-0 lead.
The rookie pair of quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Rome Odunze combined for the lone touchdown in the third quarter.
Shanahan began experimenting in the final quarter. He rotated between Guerendo and undrafted free-agent running back Patrick Taylor. The gamble paid off as both found the back of the end zone.
Brock Purdy finished the game with 20 completions from 25 attempts for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 145.42. Jennings had 7 receptions for 90 yards while All-Pro tight end George Kittle caught 6 for 151 yards. Guerendo carried the ball 15 times for 78 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and 2 touchdowns. Taylor had 7 carries for 25 yards and one score.

The win improved the Niners record to 6-7, and even though they remain bottom of the division, their chances of reaching the playoffs are better compared to the Cardinals, who have the same record but a worse points tally after losing to the Seahawks.
As for the Bears, Williams completed 17 passes for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to Odunze, who went 4 for 42. Thomas Brownâs first game post-Matt Eberflusâ era ended on a bad note. The Bears are rock bottom of the NFC North with a 1% chance of making it in the playoffs.
