Amid another challenging season, the only bright spot for the Carolina Panthers has been the recent improvement in quarterback Bryce Young’s performance. The Week 14 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles showcased his growth, as he delivered an exceptional play that is being hailed as one of the best of the season.
It happened late in the fourth quarter. The Panthers quarterback came close to leading his team on a potential game-winning touchdown drive from their own two-yard line. Advancing to the opponent’s 32-yard line, Young surprised everyone by making a deep throw towards the end zone, aimed at wide receiver Xavier Legette.
Unfortunately, Legette failed to catch the throw on the second down and the Panthers turned the ball over, resulting in their tenth loss of the season. Even though Young’s touchdown drive couldn’t be completed, he certainly won the hearts of the fans. He finished the game with 19-out-of-34 completed passes for 191 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after the scare in the closing moments of the fourth quarter, the Eagles maintained their position as the second-seeded team in the NFC. They are heading forward with a ninth straight victory which brought them the playoff berth. Quarterback Jalen Hurts finished the game with 14 completed passes out of 21 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Tom Brady praised Bryce Young’s resurgence in the 2024 season
After being drafted as the first overall pick in 2023 NFL Draft, the expectations from Young have always been through the roof and unfortunately for him, it hindered his development. After his one and half seasons that fell short of the expectations set by fans and the team, the decision was made to bench him in the middle of the 2024 campaign.
Since returning to the starting lineup, Young’s performance has significantly elevated, drawing attention from many prominent figures, including the Fox Sports lead analyst, Tom Brady, who also faced challenges in his early NFL years.
