Not many expected the legend Tom Brady would un-retire in 2020, but when he did, he shocked everyone further by announcing his decision to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While there were many reasons behind the crucial decision, the former quarterback’s oldest son, Jack was the biggest factor he considered before the big move.
During the recent episode of Scoop City, Brady’s former Bucs head coach Bruce Arians addressed how Brady landed in Tampa Bay, counting in the list of factors that influenced his decision. Given, that Brady’s first choice was the Chicago Bears as he shared earlier this year in September.
After building a legacy of six Super Bowl trophies with the New England Patriots, Brady had learned a thing or two about football and what makes a team better. At that time, since the Hall of Famer’s ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan was in New York, he had a chance to be close to his son by choosing the Bucs and didn’t let it slip away. Ultimately, it worked out brilliantly for Brady and his team as he led him to the grand Super Bowl victory.
Tom Brady’s son Jack follows his own path in sports
As much as Brady would want his 6’4” son to embark on his journey of football, the 17-year-old has his own plans. While he wants to join the sports arena like his father, his interest is actually in basketball, not the gridiron. But that doesn’t stop Brady from talking about how he could have helped his son as a quarterback playing in the NFL.
However, later in life, the seven-time Super Bowl champion realized the amount of pressure his children had to endure because of his high standards. That’s why he changed his beliefs to support them in whichever career path they chose.
