The Kansas City Chiefs are determined to secure a first-round playoff bye, winning by any means necessary. With three-peat hopes alive, Patrick Mahomes knows the offense must be firing on all cylinders.
Currently, he has DeAndre Hopkins, Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy as his recognized receivers. Those three have been doing a decent enough job, but it is never a problem when another receiver becomes available.
With the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice, the Chiefs signed Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown to be their primary receiver. However, his sternoclavicular injury meant he was going to be designated as part of their Injured Reserve list. But his recovery was on track and there was hope he would return before the playoffs.
Now, the star receiver will be a bearer of good news to Kansas City Chiefs faithful and especially his quarterback, as his recovery is complete and ready to go. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport announced the official news on X as soon as he received confirmation from the Chiefs.
Marquise Brown will make his season debut in their Week 16 game against the Houston Texans later today. He might not instantly start as the offense already has their starting 11 set. However, he will enter the game at some point as Andy Reid will look to ease him into their lineup.
The #Chiefs have activated WR Hollywood Brown from IR and he will make his debut vs the #Texans.

Either way, it bodes well for them as Patrick Mahomes needs all the help from his receiver if he is to play better. With defenses targeting him, another shifty wideout will ease that pressure off him. That is, if he plays against the Texans.
Injured Patrick Mahomes better than fully fit Carson Wentz, says former QB
The question Kansas City Chiefs faithful are currently asking is if Mahomes will play against the Houston Texans. The high-ankle injury he suffered against the Cleveland Browns led many to suggest the franchise should shut him down for the rest of the regular season. However, a former backup QB does not agree.
Chase Daniel gave this statement based on the logic that the Chiefs have to win their next two games. If they win, they get a first-round playoff bye regardless of what AFC rivals Buffalo Bills do, and for that they need Patrick Mahomes to play. By winning their next two games, they will get nearly a month off before playing their first playoff game.
There’s NO WAY The Chiefs want to see Carson Wentz.

Take it from me…I played 14 years, was one of the top backups on the league, & paid accordingly….no team wanted to see me! pic.twitter.com/cTgWFBuCs6
Their starters will be able to rest from December 25th, after their Christmas Day game all the way until January 18th when the Divisional rounds start. Chase Daniel believes it is the best solution for the franchise looking to win three-straight Super Bowls.
