Max Verstappen recently announced his long-time girlfriend Kelly Piquet‘s pregnancy ahead of the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP. The Dutchman is already a ‘bonus’ dad to Piquet’s daughter Penelope following the latter’s separation from the Ex-F1 driver Daniil Kvyat. As a result, Verstappen’s child would not only be loved immensely but could also bear great genes in terms of racing as joked by Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko.
Max Verstappen recently became the fourth-time world champion in the 2024 season while also preparing to become a father. This in addition to Kelly Piquet‘s father, Nelson Piquet‘s three world championships means that the child will enter a family of some extremely successful individuals.
Due to this factor, Helmut Marko believed that the child would possess great potential in terms of genes from the ancestors and his father. However, Marko also pointed out that such connotations were far-fetched for now as the pregnancy was just announced.
The gender of Max Verstappen’s child ‘doesn’t matter’
Max Verstappen had already suggested that he wouldn’t force his child into pursuing a career in motorsports. Moreover, the gender of the child hasn’t been decided yet as the pregnancy is just recent. Marko reckoned that the gender ultimately did not matter if the kid got into racing. The reason for this was that even if it was a girl, she would be just as fast and desirable as a boy.
Verstappen would definitely be a great dad to the kid irrespective of her gender due to multiple reasons. Moreover, the Dutchman has already started joking about needing vacations to spend more time with his girlfriend and kids. Hence, the coming time would be extremely fun for the 27-year-old as he moves on to a greater and better chapter of his life.
