Max Verstappen shares farewell message to Sergio Perez over Red Bull exit
Max Verstappen took to Instagram to share a heartwarming farewell message for Sergio Perez after the latter parted ways with Red Bull.

Sergio Perez‘s disastrous performance in the 2024 season caused his imminent exit from Red Bull. Despite scoring a multi-year contract early on this season, the Mexican driver decided to part ways with Milton Keynes. Max Verstappen raced with Perez for over four years as he shared a thoughtful farewell message reflecting on those past years.
Max Verstappen had applauded Sergio Perez‘s performance as a team player numerous times. The 34-year-old was of great help to Verstappen in his 2021 season’s championship ambitions. As a result, the Dutchman took to Instagram to share a farewell message to Perez after his exit from Red Bull was announced.
Verstappen noted that driving alongside Perez was a ‘pleasure’ over the years. Moreover, the 27-year-old recalled the amazing moments that he shared with Checo throughout the years. The Dutchman highlighted that he would always remember and reminisce those moments. The reigning world champion also thanked the outbound driver for everything.
Sergio Perez has always been ‘enjoyable’ and ‘straightforward’
Sergio Perez was a bubbly face around the Formula 1 paddock who wasn’t spotted being angry many times. As a result, Max Verstappen reckoned that Perez had always been enjoyable and straightforward. The Dutchman believed that not many teammates deserved such nice words about them. The 27-year-old thanked Checo not only as a teammate but also as a person.

Red Bull also apologized to Perez for not listening sooner to his suggestions for the chassis. The Mexican driver tried his best to improve results, which ultimately failed. However, Checo will have bigger opportunities to look forward to after completing some amazing years in the pinnacle of motorsport.
