Formula 1 is a brutal sport. Drivers and teams often engage in a war of words. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is no stranger to verbal fights with his Mercedes counterpart Toto Wolff. However, Horner has now insisted that the two do share respect for one another.

The Red Bull team boss and Wolff often hit out at each other publicly. Few weeks ago, the Mercedes boss had called Horner a ‘yapping terrier.’ In response, Christian Horner took a clever dig at the Austrian billionaire’s last name.

I believe that the most important thing, in the end, is respect. There must be respect. Toto did a great job at Mercedes during the time he was there. But you have to be competitive. From time to time he will give me at me and, you know, you give the best based on what you receive.

We are competitive, and we don’t like to lose. We want to win and respect others if they do a better job. Are we bad losers? I wouldn’t say, but we certainly don’t like to lose. If you like to lose, then you’ve played wrong.

Christian Horner asserted

Certainly, Christian Horner and Toto Wolff would be enjoying their time away from the noise of the paddock. The two bosses would be ensuring that their respective squads meet next year’s target. Fans can continue to expect more heated exchange of words once the 2025 season begins.
