Williams headed into the Brazilian GP with great hopes of scoring good results amidst Franco Colapinto‘s promising results. However, the unforgiving format of the rain-laden Brazilian circuit put forth an extremely challenging situation for Colapinto. The Argentinian suffered from a massive crash during a crucial point of the race.
Franco Colapinto crashed on Lap 33 of the Brazilian GP right after Lando Norris and George Russell pitted under a safety car. Max Verstappen was able to move up the pecking order and end up P2 before the race was red-flagged. This crash was eerily similar to Nicholas Latifi‘s crash which caused the entire controversy of the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP.
Franco Colapinto’s crash meant that Williams would walk out of the weekend with zero points scored as Alex Albon suffered from a crash too. Albon’s colossal crash during the qualifying rendered his chassis unable to participate in the Brazilian GP. Hence, Colapinto will have to look back at his performance and ensure that such blunders are not caused again.

Max Verstappen asserted driving around the rainy Brazilian GP was like being on ‘a boat’
The torrential rains have continued at the Brazilian GP circuit despite the race being started. Multiple drivers face grip issues following the massive amounts of rain. Hence, following the red flag, Max Verstappen was spotted berating the grip on the track. The Dutchman noted that he couldn’t race on the extremely wet compounds due to a lot of water being logged on the circuit.
