Max Verstappen won his fourth title in a row this season. The Dutch driver has achieved incredible success in the sport in the past few years. However, the reigning world champion refuses to relive the day of his maiden F1 championship.

Verstappen won the 2021 Drivers’ title against Lewis Hamilton at the controversial Abu Dhabi GP. The Red Bull driver capitalized on a late Safety Car which allowed him to defeat the seven-time world champion. The 27-year-old’s career has only gone upwards since.

Nevertheless, the Dutch driver asserted that he does not want to relive the day of the 2021 season finale. So much so, that Max Verstappen claimed he would pass away of a heart attack if he had to go through it again. Though, He pointed out that such moments are amazing to look at it today.

However, before the 2021 title decider, Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet was surprised as the Dutch driver’s hands were completely cold, showing that he was extremely tense.

I remember people that saw me that day, especially my girlfriend Kelly. She came to my room before the race and I think normally before a race I’m not that nervous. You’re just well prepared and there might be some nerves that you want to do well. But she said my hands were ice cold.

Max Verstappen was undoubtedly feeling the pressure as he headed into the final race of 2021. Luckily for the Red Bull star, things turned out in his favor. Now, the Dutch driver is content to just look back at the day which essentially started his dominance at the pinnacle of motorsport.
